Geekonomy DevOps Engineer Job Description - Contract - Bengaluru (On-site). Total experience: 4-6 years. Relevant DevOps/AWS experience: 3-5 years. Key skills: AWS, CI/CD (Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab), Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, Terraform or CloudFormation, Linux shell scripting, Git, monitoring troubleshooting. Note: Sole DevOps on the project. Must support outside working hours during emergencies/outages.
The Role
We are looking for a DevOps Engineer to build. automate. maintain, and improve the processes used to develop, deploy, and operate applications. The role will focus on CI/CD, infrastructure automation, deployment processes, cloud operations, monitoring, and maintaining reliable development and production environments The ideal candidate should be highly hands-on and comfortable working with development teams to automate repetitive processes and improve the speed. reliability. and consistency of software delivery.
Responsibilities
- Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for application build, testing, and deployment
- Automate application deployment across development, staging, and production environments
- provision and manage infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Containerise applications using Docker and manage container deployments.
- Deploy and maintain workloads on Kubernetes/EKS where required
- Manage development staging and production environments and ensure consistency between environments.
- Automate repetitive infrastructure and operational tasks using scripting and DevOps tools.
- Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, alerting, and system health checks.
- Monitor infrastructure and application performance and respond to operational issues.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures, infrastructure issues. configuration problems, and production incidents.
- Implement release, rollback and environment management processes.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- You will be responsible for making the process of building, deploying, and operating applications faster, more reliable, and more automated.
- Your focus will be on the practical implementation and day-to-day operation of the infrastructure and deployment ecosystem.
- As this is a Contract engagement with a minimum commitment of 6 months, you should be able to quickly understand existing infrastructure and deployment processes.
- Take ownership of assigned environments.
- And start contributing independently from the early stages of the engagement.
