Position: DevOps Engineer - AWS
Experience: 5+ Years
Employment Type: Full-Time
Role Overview We are looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer with strong AWS expertise to support the development and modernization of enterprise applications on AWS.
The engineer will be responsible for designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, cloud security, monitoring, and operational capabilities for highly available and scalable AWS solutions.
The role requires close collaboration with architects, Java developers, QA engineers, and customer infrastructure/security teams to establish reliable and repeatable deployment processes across multiple environments.
Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, and maintain secure and scalable AWS cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) .
- Develop and maintain infrastructure using AWS CDK and AWS CloudFormation .
- Build, configure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD and GitHub Actions .
- Automate application and infrastructure deployments across Development, Test, UAT, and Production environments .
- Implement deployment workflows with appropriate approval gates, automated validation, rollback mechanisms, and release controls .
- Deploy and manage serverless and event-driven AWS solutions using services such as:
- AWS Lambda
- Amazon EventBridge
- Amazon SQS/SNS
- AWS Step Functions
- Amazon API Gateway
- Configure and manage AWS Glue jobs and data integration workflows where required.
- Deploy, configure, patch, monitor, and manage Amazon EC2 and related AWS infrastructure.
- Implement configuration and secrets management using services such as AWS Systems Manager Parameter Store and AWS Secrets Manager .
- Implement monitoring and observability using Amazon CloudWatch Logs, Metrics, Dashboards, Alarms, and distributed application monitoring/tracing .
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, permissions, and application integration issues across AWS environments.
- Implement AWS security best practices including IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, encryption, least-privilege access, and secure secrets management .
- Integrate code-quality, security scanning, and validation checks into CI/CD pipelines.
- Support SonarQube and other automated quality/security gates as applicable.
- Work with development and QA teams to establish repeatable deployment and testing processes.
- Support database and data-service deployment activities involving AWS services such as DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora, Athena, and Glue , as applicable.
- Optimize AWS infrastructure for availability, reliability, performance, security, and cost .
- Ensure solutions align with the AWS Well-Architected Framework .
- Create and maintain architecture documentation, deployment procedures, operational runbooks, and troubleshooting guides.
- Participate in design reviews, release planning, production-readiness reviews, and technical troubleshooting sessions.
- 5+ years of overall DevOps / Cloud Engineering experience .
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services .
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) .
- Hands-on experience with AWS CDK and/or CloudFormation .
- Strong experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines .
- Hands-on experience with GitLab CI/CD and/or GitHub Actions .
- Good experience deploying and operating AWS Lambda and serverless applications .
- Experience with AWS services such as EventBridge, SQS, SNS, Step Functions, EC2, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, and Secrets Manager .
- Strong understanding of AWS IAM, networking, security, encryption, and access-control concepts .
- Experience managing deployments across multiple environments.
- Strong scripting/automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar scripting languages .
- Experience with Git-based source-control and branching strategies .
- Good troubleshooting and root-cause-analysis skills.
- Ability to work closely with development, QA, architecture, and customer technical teams.
- AWS certification such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional or AWS Certified Solutions Architect .
- Experience with Terraform .
- Experience with SonarQube and automated code-quality/security gates.
- Experience with AWS Glue, Athena, DynamoDB, RDS/Aurora , and data-processing workloads.
- Experience supporting Java-based applications and microservices .
- Understanding of event-driven and serverless architectures .
- Experience with container technologies such as Docker/ECS/EKS .
- Experience working on enterprise application modernization or legacy-to-AWS migration programs .
- Understanding of disaster recovery, backup, high availability, and operational-readiness practices.
