DevOps Engineer - Intern

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with application and engineering teams to understand deployment, infrastructure, and operational requirements.
• Assist in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions to automate application build, testing, and deployment workflows.
• Assist with managing and provisioning AWS infrastructure, following established architecture, security, and operational practices.
• Support automation of repetitive infrastructure and deployment tasks using appropriate DevOps tools and scripting.
• Assist in monitoring application and infrastructure health, investigating alerts, and troubleshooting deployment or environment-related issues.
• Follow best practices for infrastructure security, access management, configuration, and secrets management.
• Assist in maintaining development, testing, and production environments and ensure deployments are performed reliably and consistently.
• Document infrastructure, deployment processes, configurations, and operational procedures to improve maintainability and knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

• 0-1 years' experience with cloud platforms, preferably AWS, and familiarity with services such as EC2 S3 IAM, CloudWatch, and ALB.
• Basic understanding of CI/CD concepts and hands-on experience with tools such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
• Basic understanding of Linux/Unix systems, including shell commands, process management, networking, and system troubleshooting.
• Basic scripting knowledge in languages such as Bash, Python, or JavaScript to automate repetitive operational tasks.
• Proficient use of developer and DevOps tools such as Git, GitHub, CLI tools, Postman, and IDEs (VS Code).
• Strong understanding of fundamental networking concepts such as HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, TCP/IP, ports, load balancing, and firewalls.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills.
• Proficient use of AI tools (e. g., ChatGPT, Cursor, etc. ) to improve productivity, troubleshoot issues, and automate operational tasks.
• A collaborative, team-first mindset with good communication skills and a high sense of ownership.

Nice to Have:

• Infrastructure as Code: Familiarity with Terraform or similar Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
• Containers: Basic understanding of Docker and containerization concepts.
• Monitoring and Observability: Exposure to tools such as CloudWatch, New Relic, Sentry, or similar monitoring and logging platforms.
• Security: Basic understanding of IAM, secrets management, SSH, access control, and secure infrastructure practices.
• AWS automation: Experience using AWS CLI, SDKs, or Systems Manager (SSM) for infrastructure and operational tasks.
• Deployment automation: Experience setting up or troubleshooting automated build, test, and deployment pipelines.
