Development Manager

Working experience in the ERP domain, demonstrated through:

1. Hands-on involvement in ERP implementation, customization, or integration projects (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or custom-built ERP).

2. Experience with ERP integration (APIs, middleware, ETL) between ERP systems and custom applications.

Deep hands-on expertise in Microsoft technologies:

• .NET 8 / C# and ASP.NET Core Web API
• Entity Framework / EF Core, SQL Server / Azure SQL
• React (Hooks, TypeScript, Redux/state management)
• Microservices architecture — API gateway, containerization (Docker / Kubernetes), RESTful API design, message-based integration
• Strong experience with Azure and Azure DevOps (pipelines, repos, boards, releases).
• Proven experience in CI/CD, automated testing (unit/integration), and code quality tooling.
• Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery; ability to run multiple teams and manage competing priorities.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Development Manager to lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise software solutions for our government and corporate clients. This position will own end-to-end technical delivery, drive engineering excellence on the Microsoft technology stack, and act as the bridge between engineering teams, delivery leadership, and clients — ensuring on-time, high-quality releases that align with client expectations and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Delivery & Execution

• Oversee end-to-end development and delivery of software solutions, ensuring on-time, within-budget, and high-quality releases across multiple concurrent projects.
• Own sprint and release planning, scope management, and delivery commitments for the teams under your remit.
• Implement and enforce best practices, delivery frameworks, and engineering processes for software project management.

2. Technical Leadership

• Provide hands-on technical leadership across the Microsoft stack — .NET 8 / C#, ASP.NET Core Web API, Entity Framework, React (TypeScript), and Microservices.
• Champion and enforce microservices architecture patterns (API gateway, service discovery, containerization, event-driven design) and ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and maintainable.
• Drive cloud adoption on Azure, including Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure DevOps, and Azure SQL/SQL Server.
• Stay current with Microsoft technology roadmaps and industry best practices, and introduce improvements pragmatically.

3. People Management

• Build, mentor, and retain high-performing development teams (developers, senior developers, leads), fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
• Conduct performance reviews, define growth paths, and drive technical upskilling (e.g., .NET, React, cloud, DevOps competencies).
• Manage resource allocation across projects to ensure optimal utilization and timely delivery; forecast capacity needs and flag risks early.
• Handle team conflicts, attrition risks, and hiring — including technical interviews and onboarding.

4. Engineering & Operational Excellence

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance engineering efficiency, delivery timelines, and cost optimization.
• Implement and track KPIs and metrics (velocity, cycle time, defect density, code coverage, deployment frequency) to monitor project health, quality, and team performance.
• Champion Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies, project governance frameworks, and industry best practices.
• Drive DevOps adoption — CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and continuous deployment — to enable faster, safer releases.
• Maintain working knowledge of CMMi processes and ensure compliance where required by client engagements.

5. Stakeholder Collaboration

• Work closely with product management, engineering leadership, and the VP – Delivery to ensure alignment of delivery plans with business priorities and revenue goals.
• Provide regular status updates and reporting to leadership on project progress, risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with client stakeholders and delivery managers to translate requirements into executable technical plans; support escalation resolution with a solutions-oriented mindset.
