Responsibilities

• 1.1 To lead end-to-end development and industrialization of Pressing and Fabrication parts for New Product Development projects by ensuring achievement of Quality, Cost and Delivery (QCD) targets through process engineering, tooling development, cost optimization and manufacturing readiness aligned to project milestones as per APQP process.
• 1.2 The role is responsible for developing robust manufacturing processes, achieving First Time Right (FTR) development, ensuring timely PPAP approval, and deploying value engineering initiatives to support business profitability.
• 1. Study engineering drawings and product specifications including GDT requirements.
• 2. Evaluate manufacturability and provide DFM/DFA inputs during design stages.
• 3. Review critical characteristics and identify process risks before tool kick-off.
• 4. Participate in design reviews with RD and Quality teams.
• 5. Support design optimization to improve manufacturability, quality and cost.
• 6. Evaluate and implement Automation/IIoT/Poka Yoke etc. to derisk skilled man power and improve productivity.
• 7. Define optimum manufacturing process routes and automation for Frames, Swingarms, Handle bars, Centre stands, Sheet-metal assemblies etc.
• 8. Good knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM and DFA
• 9. Development of parts as per APQP process periodic review with the suppliers for the parts under development
• 10. Expertise in Part Tool cost estimation arrive at part cost parameters to create Target cost deployment (TCD) / Target cost sign off / ECR analysis to RD / PRG team
• 11. Float RFQ to multiple sources,Selection of source according to the complexity of the part / product with respect to QCD requirements.
• 12. Estimate the cost ( Zero based costing), discuss, negotiate the cost for achieving target cost.
• 13. Good Negotiation skills with Vendor for the Pricing, Project delivery, Cost reduction, Process improvement related activities.
• 14. Finalise the tool cost , part cost with in the specified cost norms for timely release of LOI /Purchase orders.(Prior to Beta assy)
• 15. Conduct SPTR/IPTR/PPAP audit for the new parts at supplier end
• 16. Periodical visit/auditing of Tooling suppliers to understand the work load as well as adoption of New Tool manufacturing techniques/ new process technology.
• 17. Evaluate and select required tooling suppliers along with part suppliers based on SWOT analysis.
• 18. Hands on experience in SAP MM Module for Part development functions.
• 19. NPD: Execute the action identified in each stages of Part Development process based on guidence from Sourcing Development Engineer action agreed with Supplier
• 20. NPD: Meet the Target cost with Program time plan
• 21. NPD: Initiate costing related workflow for TRPO, IPSF,TCSF PCR, toolings etc
• 22. NPD: Develop parts as per project mile stone conduct process Quality Audit to meet QCD Target
