Developer II

As a Developer II, you will be responsible for producing clean and efficient code based on the user stories’ acceptance criteria. Additionally, you will write unit test scripts with good coverage, troubleshoot, debug, and modify existing software, and participate in builds and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable fullstack features for the HomeWiseDocs platform.
• Translate product and business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Own medium-to-complex feature delivery from planning through deployment.
• Contribute across frontend, backend, APIs, database, testing, and production support.
• Investigate and resolve technical issues affecting reliability, performance, and user experience.
• Support platform modernization, including migration from legacy Java systems to React/Node-based architecture.
• Collaborate with product managers, designers, QA, technical leads, and distributed engineering teams.
• Mentor junior developers and promote clean code, maintainability, testing, and engineering best practices.
• Participate in technical planning, estimates, code reviews, and architecture discussions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience building customer-facing web applications.
• Strong TypeScript and modern JavaScript experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with React, Apollo, responsive UI, and accessibility standards.
• Strong backend experience with Node.js, Express, GraphQL, and REST APIs.
• Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases.
• Experience with Jest, Cypress, or similar testing tools.
• Understanding of web security practices including authentication, authorization, XSS, CSRF, and SQL injection prevention.
• Familiarity with Docker, AWS, NPM, Vite, and modern development workflows.
• Ability to troubleshoot production issues and deliver maintainable, high-quality software.
