Position: Designer / Sr. Designer - Electrical

Business Unit: Power Business Unit (PBU)

Work Location: Chennai

Experience: 1 to 8 Years - Designer, 9 to 15 Years - Senior Designer

Qualification: Degree/ Diploma in Electrical / Civil

Job Summary:

DAR Engineering is seeking an experienced Designer / Sr. Designer to lead and manage the design and execution of LV/MV/HV/EHV substation projects within the T&D sector. The role involves technical leadership, project management, tender support, multidisciplinary coordination, and ensuring quality compliance across all design stages from concept to IFC.

Job Description:

• Draft drawings meeting drafting standards, quality, and schedule requirements.
• Adhere to established drafting guidelines and procedures.
• Follow the project plan and determine drafting feasibilities and constraints.
• Use the latest drafting tools and techniques to develop effective drawings.
• Execute drafting of projects within allotted timelines and man-hours (MHs).
• Stay abreast of the latest developments in relevant drafting fields.
• Ensure compliance with relevant QMS requirements by the drafting team.
• Provide assistance to senior design team members.

Skills Required:

• Full command of drafting standards as per client requirements.
• Ability to prepare project drawings as per requirements and given instructions.
• Good knowledge of various drafting software, system requirements, software administration, project DMS administration, and monitoring of e-folder systems.
• Perform required design tasks within allocated time, respecting deadlines with quality output.
• Hands-on experience in man-hour estimation for drafting functions, project folder systems, and leading a team of draftsmen.
• Strong working and mentoring knowledge of MicroStation / Building Designer / AutoCAD / 3D modeling software.
• Passionate about drafting.
• Good communication skills in presentation and documentation with command of English. Acquaintance with Arabic is an advantage.
