About this role
Design Researcher (AI & Product) Research-first. Product-minded. AI-curious.
Remote (India) · Full-time Most teams use research to validate decisions. We use it to shape them. At Tweak Labs, research isn't a phase before design. It's part of how products get built. We work with ambitious companies to uncover the assumptions behind their products, understand where experiences break down, and design what should come next, or something entirely from scratch. We're looking for someone who enjoys moving between research, product thinking, and design. Someone who's comfortable with ambiguity, asks better questions before proposing solutions, and sees AI as a tool to think faster - not less. What you'll do
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative research, including interviews, usability testing, heuristic evaluations, in-depth product audits and competitor analysis.
- Turn research into product opportunities, clear recommendations and actionable design direction.
- Create user flows, wireframes and design assets where needed.
- Work closely with founders and product teams on product discovery and redesign.
- Use AI thoughtfully across research, synthesis, documentation and exploration.
- Help build better research and design systems inside Tweak Labs. You'd be a great fit if you...
- Have 2-4 years of experience in UX Research, Product Design or a hybrid role.
- Can confidently connect user insights to product decisions.
- Have a strong understanding of interaction design, hierarchy and usability.
- Think in systems, not just screens.
- Care about the details and think clearly before you move.
- Are curious about AI and actively experiment with new ways of working.
- Enjoy taking ownership and figuring things out without waiting for instructions.
Bonus if you have experience with early-stage startups, motion design, Framer or Webflow, AI-assisted research workflows, or an interest in brand strategy. Tools we use Figma · FigJam · Miro · Notion · Google Workspace · Research platforms · AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Cursor—and whatever genuinely improves the work.) Who thrives here We're a small, research-led studio, not a large agency. We prefer quality over quantity. There isn't a rigid playbook. No endless approval chains. No one handing you a perfectly defined brief every Monday morning. Some days you'll be interviewing users. Other days you'll be mapping product strategy, designing interfaces, experimenting with AI workflows, or helping improve how our own studio operates. We're still growing, which means you'll have the opportunity to shape not just client work, but how Tweak Labs itself evolves. The systems, processes, rituals and ways of working are still being built. We don't measure contribution by hours online or how busy your calendar looks. We value ownership over oversight, and curiosity over certainty. If you're looking for a predictable 9-to-5 with repetitive project cycles, we're probably not the right fit. If you enjoy working close to founders, wearing multiple hats, experimenting with AI, and helping shape the future of a growing studio, we'd love to hear from you. To apply Send us:
- Your resume.
- Your portfolio.
- Your LinkedIn profile.
- If you have one, your design Instagram, personal website, blog, or any space where you share your work, experiments or interests. (Optional, but we'd love to see it.)
- Your response (500 words max) to the question below.
Question Over the next
48 hours , notice one frustrating experience in your everyday life. It could be digital, physical or a service. Don't choose something famous. Tell us:
- What happened?
- What assumptions do you think were made by the people who designed it?
- How would you validate those assumptions?
- What's the first change you'd test, and why? There isn't a right answer.
- We're interested in how you observe, think, question assumptions and approach problems - not in polished redesigns or AI-generated responses.
