Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Design & Development Manager to lead the complete product and design development lifecycle from concept to production. The role involves managing design teams, developing production-ready solutions, driving innovation, improving product functionality, coordinating cross-functional execution, and ensuring commercially viable and manufacturable outputs aligned with business objectives.
Key Responsibilities (KRAs)
- Lead end-to-end product design and development activities from concept to final production release.
- Manage and supervise the design team to ensure timely delivery of design outputs and project milestones.
- Develop innovative, cost-effective, and production-feasible product solutions.
- Review and approve conceptual designs, technical drawings, prototypes, and final design documentation.
- Coordinate with production, procurement, quality, sales, and project teams for seamless execution.
- Establish design standards, SOPs, and development processes across projects.
- Drive new product development (NPD), product enhancements, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure preparation and approval of working drawings, production drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.
- Conduct design feasibility reviews considering manufacturing capability, installation, and cost optimization.
- Lead prototype development, testing, validation, and final product approvals.
- Monitor material selection, hardware specifications, finish standards, and technical compliance.
- Manage project timelines, development schedules, and resource allocation.
- Optimize product designs to improve quality, reduce cost, and minimize material wastage.
- Collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to understand design requirements and convert them into executable solutions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor products, and emerging technologies to drive innovation.
- Maintain design documentation, revision control, and project records.
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
- Mentor and develop team capabilities through training and technical guidance.
