Job Purpose
Lead the strategic development of highway and structure designs, ensuring adherence to standards, optimizing project outcomes, and preparing cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed design for construction projects to the contract stage.
- Providing technical direction to the design crew, assigning tasks, instructing in procedures, and ensuring the orderly progress of the project
- Reviews and revises and complete design projects.
- Supervises revision of plans of projects to contract.
- Undertake independent studies or assignments.
- Deals with written enquiries assigned originating either from the public or from other government agencies.
- Directing the preparation of drawings and estimates in specific applications.
- Acquaintance with design codes and manuals
- Contract Clauses interpretation.
- To incorporate state of art technology
- Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Decision Making, Communication, Stakeholder Management and ability to inspire and motivate teams towards excellence
- Comprehensive understanding of highway and structure design principles and practices
- In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and specifications
- Experience in managing complex design projects from concept to completion
- Familiarity with industry-specific regulations, codes, and standards
- Expertise in analyzing and interpreting geotechnical and topographical data
- Basic Knowledge of relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D,MicroStation)
