Job Purpose

We are looking for a Wheel Design Engineer with 3 to 5 years of experience in automotive chassis/wheel development using Siemens NX. The candidate will be responsible for 3D modeling, surface creation, packaging, brake clearance checks, and drafting for automotive wheels and wheel trim components.

Key Responsibilities

• 3D CAD & Surface Modeling (Siemens NX):
  
• Design 3D solid and surface models for automotive wheels (alloy/steel), center caps, and aero covers using NX Shape Studio / Freeform Modeling.
• Develop complex spoke geometries while maintaining Class-A surface continuity (G1/G2).
• Vehicle Packaging & Clearance Analysis:
  
• Perform brake caliper clearance studies (CMM), wheel arch fitment, bolt pattern (PCD) setup, hub interface alignment, and tire envelope checks in NX.
• Utilize NX WAVE Geometry Linker for top-down assembly control and vehicle integration.
• Design for Manufacturing (DFM):
  
• Apply DFM checks using NX analysis tools (draft angles, split lines, minimum wall thickness, radii) for low-pressure die casting (LPDC), forging, and machining processes.
• 2D Drafting & GD&T:
  
• Create detailed manufacturing drawings using NX Drafting with GD&T (ASME Y14.5), defining critical tolerances for runout, hub concentricity, and bolt seat interfaces.
• Validation & Cross-Functional Support:
  
• Assist CAE and test teams in setup for radial, cornering fatigue, and 13/30 impact tests.
• Participate in DFMEA creation, engineering change management (ECR/ECO), and release activities.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automotive wheel or structural component design.
• Core Software: Strong proficiency in Siemens NX (UG-NX) — Part Modeling, Freeform Surfacing, Assembly, WAVE Linker, and Drafting.
• Joining Availability: Candidates with a notice period of 30 to 45 days or less will be preferred
