Design Engineer (Heavy Machinery)Role Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Design Engineer with 2 years of core industry experience in the Heavy Machinery sector. This role focuses on the end-to-end development of high-durability Sheet Metal and Cast components. You will leverage PTC Creo and advanced GD&T principles to ensure all designs are optimized for manufacturing, assembly, and extreme field conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

• 3D Modeling & Drafting: Develop complex 3D models and production-ready 2D drawings for sheet metal structures and intricate cast parts using PTC Creo.
• Sheet Metal Design: Engineer robust brackets, cabins, and structural housings, ensuring proper bend allowances, K-factors, and weldment specifications.
• Casting Design: Design high-performance cast components, meticulously defining draft angles, parting lines, fillets, and core requirements for sand or investment casting.
• GD&T Application: Apply advanced ASME Y14.5 standards to all drawings to ensure precise fitment and functional consistency across global manufacturing sites.
• DFM/DFA focus: Collaborate with foundries and fabrication shops to optimize designs for cost, weight, and manufacturability (Design for Manufacturing/Assembly).
• Heavy Equipment Standards: Ensure all designs meet industry-specific requirements for vibration, fatigue, and high-stress loading.

Technical Requirements & Qualifications:

• Experience: Minimum 2 years of professional experience specifically within the Heavy Machinery, Construction, or Mining Equipment industries.
• Software Proficiency: Expert in PTC Creo (Sheetmetal, Casting, and Advanced Assembly Extension modules).
• Standards: Strong command of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) for complex tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Manufacturing Knowledge: Direct experience with sheet metal fabrication (laser cutting, CNC bending) and foundry processes (pattern design, casting defects).
• Education: B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Core Competencies:

• Ability to manage Bill of Materials (BOM) within a PLM environment (e.g., Windchill).
• Strong analytical skills to solve structural design challenges.
• Excellent communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with manufacturing and quality teams.
