Design Engineer

Position: Design Engineer Electrical Panels

Experience: 2 - 6 Years

Qualification: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Electrical Engineering

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop Electrical Control Panels, Power Panels, MCC, PCC, APFC, PLC and automation panels as per project requirements.
• Prepare electrical schematic diagrams, control circuit diagrams, GA drawings, wiring diagrams, and BOMs.
• Select appropriate electrical components such as MCBs, MCCBs, contactors, relays, VFDs, PLCs, SMPS, timers, meters, terminals, etc.
• Prepare Bill of Materials (BOM), component specifications, and panel layouts.
• Design panel layouts considering space, heat dissipation, cable routing, accessibility, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate with Production, Purchase, Sales, Quality, and Project teams for smooth execution of projects.
• Review customer specifications, technical drawings, and project requirements.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable electrical standards, safety requirements, and customer specifications.
• Provide technical support to the production team during panel assembly, wiring, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Review and modify drawings based on customer requirements and engineering changes.
• Coordinate with vendors for technical specifications and component selection.
• Participate in FAT, inspection, testing, and commissioning activities when required.
• Maintain proper documentation of drawings, BOMs, revisions, and technical records.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of Electrical Panel Design and Control Circuits
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD Electrical / EPLAN or similar design software
• Good knowledge of MCC, PCC, PLC, APFC and Control Panels
• Knowledge of electrical components and their applications
• Understanding of control wiring, power circuits, cable sizing, protection devices, and panel layouts
• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and ERP systems
• Strong problem-solving and coordination skills

Preferred Industry Experience

Candidates with experience in Electrical Panel Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, HVAC & Refrigeration, Industrial Controls, Switchgear, or Engineering Manufacturing will be preferred.
