Design Engineer

Job Description:

• Seeking a skilled professional with experience in product design of automotive Exterior and interior plastics parts for global automotive OEMs
• The role involves cross functional collaboration to drive complete product development cycle RFQ to TKO stages support on regulation checks and drawing package creation

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and develop plastics trims for global passenger cars
• Perimeters Bumper Tailgate Lighting Body Claddings interior trims I P floor console
• Interact with client engineers understand the inputs and execute the designs independently with little supervision
• Collaborate with cross functional teams and suppliers to manage deliverables participate in design reviews and meetings and achieve program requirements
• Lead a team of 2 3 members for a perimeter program
• Good communication skills to discuss with onsite engineers and clients to understand the requirements

• Tech in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering with 3 9 years in plastics product design for automotive cars
• PD tools CATIA V5 NX Teamcenter Windchill
• Strong knowledge of product development cycle NPD plastics materials and manufacturing processes
• Good knowledge of plastics design guidelines and tooling fundamentals
• knowledge of automotive safety standards like ECE FMVSS desirable
• Skills to perform regulatory checks on style surfaces for passenger pedestrian safety ECE 26
• Skills on assembly management and OEM drawing creation will be added advantage
• Working knowledge with European or American clients with cross cultural sensitivity
• Excellent communication skills written verbal and listening
