Design Engineer (Packaging Industry)

Role & responsibilities

• Design and develop packaging products using SolidWorks.
• Prepare 2D drawings, 3D models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings.
• Develop wooden, metal, corrugated, honeycomb, and custom packaging solutions.
• Prepare BOMs, material specifications, and cost estimates.
• Coordinate with production and quality teams for design validation.
• Conduct product testing and design improvements.
• Support new product development and customer-specific packaging requirements.
• Conduct customer visits to identify new product development opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sales growth.
• Visit suppliers and customer sites for technical discussions when required.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintain design documentation and revision control.

Preferred candidate profile

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (mandatory).
• Good understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of sheet metal, welding, packaging materials, and structural design.
• AutoCAD knowledge will be an added advantage.
