Design Engineer - Lighting

Roles and Responsibilities :

• Complete knowledge of Lighting Product Range, including Consumer, Professional, Indoor, Outdoor, and decorative Lighting products.
• Experience working with PLM systems (Windchill) for product lifecycle and engineering change management.
• Conversant with 2D drafting and 3D Modelling using Creo or equivalent CAD software.
• Complete knowledge of creating and managing BOM Bill of Materials (BOM), Assembly Drawings, Packaging KLDs, Labels creation, Packaging artwork.
• Expertise in documentation management and revision control ( ECN & ECR).
• Knowledge of plastic, sheet metal, die-cast, and extruded part design for lighting applications.
• Complete understanding of mechanical assembly integration, including LED PCB mounting, optics, drivers, heat sinks, diffusers, reflectors, and enclosure assemblies.
• Working knowledge of applicable BIS, IS, IEC, RoHS, and other lighting standards, with the ability to incorporate compliance requirements into product designs.
• Experience in thermal management and heat-sink design for LED lighting products.
• Prototype development, evaluation, testing, and reporting.
• Knowledge of DFM, DFA, DFMEA, PFMEA, and Value Engineering concepts.
• Support product validation activities including Thermal testing, IP testing, Transportation test & Mechanical strength testing etc..
• Root cause analysis and corrective action implementation for design and field-related issues.
• Coordination with Quality, Procurement and Suppliers to ensure successful product development and launch.
• Drive cost optimization and continuous product improvement initiatives while maintaining quality and reliability targets.
