JOB TITLE: Design and BOM Structure Support Engineer

POSITION SUMMARY

 The position of Packaging Design and BOM Structure Engineer is responsible for supporting packaging development, manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) structure ownership, design team administrative data activities, and related engineering administration for NVH Solutions. This role leads MBOM structure responsibilities, supports purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related administrative coordination, maintains EBOM and Oracle Form system data, supports Active Workspace maintenance specification and EBOM setup, and provides IMDS and quality support to ensure compliance, accurate product data, and efficient execution of packaging and engineering processes. The position works closely with engineering, purchasing, quality, and operations teams to maintain data integrity, support program execution, and improve cross-functional responsiveness.

Duties & Responsibilities

Own and maintain MBOM structure activities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and alignment with manufacturing requirements.

Create, review, update, and manage manufacturing bill of materials data to support production, engineering changes, and program launches.

Coordinate packaging design requirements to support product protection, manufacturability, logistics efficiency, and plant needs.

Provide design team administrative data analysis and entry support to maintain accurate engineering and product data records.

Maintain EBOM data and Oracle Form system records to support engineering documentation, product structure accuracy, and system integrity.

Support Active Workspace maintenance specification updates and EBOM setup activities for new and revised programs.

Support the creation and processing of purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and related administrative tasks in coordination with internal stakeholders.

Work with purchasing and approvers, including support for workflows to ensure timely completion of transactions.

Provide IMDS support by preparing, reviewing, and maintaining material data submissions to help ensure customer and regulatory compliance.

Provide quality support for packaging and BOM-related activities, including issue follow-up, documentation updates, and cross-functional problem resolution.

Collaborate with engineering, quality, purchasing, supply chain, and operations teams to maintain accurate product and process data.

Support engineering change implementation by updating BOM structures and related records in a timely and accurate manner.

Maintain documentation, records, and systems related to packaging specifications, BOM structures, purchasing administration, compliance activities, and engineering data administration.

Identify opportunities to improve data quality, process efficiency, and standardization across packaging, EBOM, Oracle Form, and BOM structure workflows.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Packaging Engineering or a related technical field is preferred.

Experience with BOM or MBOM structure management, engineering data maintenance, or product lifecycle support in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of packaging design principles, material selection, product protection requirements, and logistics considerations.

Familiarity with EBOM structures, Oracle Form systems, Active Workspace, and related engineering or product data management tools is preferred.

Familiarity with IMDS requirements, material compliance processes, and customer or regulatory reporting expectations.

Ability to manage detailed data accurately across multiple systems, documents, and stakeholders.

Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work effectively with engineering, purchasing, quality, operations, and supply chain teams.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
