Deputy General Manager

Role Purpose:

To lead and manage corporate affairs, government relations, policy advocacy, and stakeholder engagement to support business growth, regulatory compliance, and strategic initiatives of the organization.

Role & responsibilities:

1. Government Relations & Liaisoning

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with central, state, and local government authorities
• Act as the primary interface for all regulatory and policy matters
• Facilitate approvals, licenses, and clearances required for business operations and projects

2. Policy Advocacy & Regulatory Affairs

• Track and analyze policy developments, regulatory changes, and industry trends
• Represent the organization in industry forums, government bodies, and associations
• Drive advocacy initiatives aligned with business interests

3. Stakeholder Management

• Engage with key external stakeholders including government bodies, local authorities, and community representatives
• Build strategic partnerships to enhance organizational reputation and business opportunities
• Manage sensitive issues and ensure alignment with organizational objectives

4. Corporate Communications Support

• Collaborate with internal teams on external communications related to government and policy matters
• Support positioning of the organization in public and policy forums
• Ensure consistent messaging aligned with corporate strategy

5. Project Support & Approvals

• Support project teams in obtaining statutory approvals and clearances
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely execution of projects
• Ensure smooth handling of land, regulatory, and compliance-related matters

6. Risk Management & Compliance

• Identify regulatory risks and develop mitigation strategies
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and corporate governance standards
• Monitor legal and policy risks impacting business operations

7. Industry Representation

• Represent the organization at key industry platforms, conferences, and government meetings
• Strengthen the companies presence and influence in relevant industry bodies
