Deputy General Manager of Finance

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Reporting

• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
• Oversee general ledger accounting, account reconciliations, and financial close processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, statutory requirements, and company policies.
• Analyze financial performance and provide actionable insights to management.
• Present financial reports and key business metrics to leadership teams.

2. Budgeting & Forecasting

• Lead the annual budgeting process and periodic financial forecasting exercises.
• Monitor budget utilization and analyze variances against approved budgets.
• Support business units in financial planning and resource allocation.
• Recommend initiatives for cost optimization and financial efficiency.

3. Business Finance & Performance Management

• Partner with business heads to support financial decision-making and strategic initiatives.
• Develop and present MIS reports, management dashboards, and KPI analyses.
• Conduct profitability assessments, cost reviews, and business performance evaluations.
• Drive data-based recommendations to improve operational and financial outcomes.

4. Treasury & Cash Flow Management

• Monitor cash flow, working capital requirements, and liquidity management.
• Manage banking relationships, funding arrangements, and financial institutions.
• Ensure optimum utilization of funds and effective cash management practices.
• Support capital expenditure planning and financing strategies.

5. Taxation & Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax laws, including GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other applicable regulations.
• Coordinate statutory audits, internal audits, tax assessments, and regulatory filings.
• Liaise with auditors, consultants, bankers, and regulatory authorities.
• Monitor changes in financial regulations and ensure organizational compliance.

6. Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Strengthen internal control systems and financial governance processes.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and risk management frameworks.
• Identify financial and operational risks and recommend mitigation measures.
• Support implementation of audit recommendations and compliance initiatives.

7. Team Leadership & Process Excellence

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance & Accounts team.
• Drive process improvements, digitization, and automation initiatives.
• Establish a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure effective succession planning and capability development within the function.

Qualifications & Experience

• Chartered Accountant ( Mandatory)
• 12-18 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, budgeting, treasury, and compliance.
