Deputy General Manager Civil | Transmission & Substation

Roles & Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee civil execution of 132kV, 220kV and 400kV transmission line and substation projects from mobilization to completion and handover.
• Manage civil works including tower foundations, equipment foundations, control rooms, cable trenches, roads, drains, yards, buildings and other substation infrastructure.
• Handle multiple projects/sites simultaneously, with overall monitoring and coordination from the Head Office.
• Conduct site visits, inspections and project reviews as required and as directed by management.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Planning, QA/QC, HSE, Electrical, Testing & Commissioning, clients and contractors for smooth project execution.
• Monitor project schedule, budget, manpower, materials, contractor performance and quality, ensuring timely completion.
• Ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, safety standards, statutory requirements and client requirements.
• Identify project risks, delays and site issues and implement corrective actions to minimize time and cost overruns.
• Review progress reports, BOQ, RA bills, quality documents and project MIS, and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Lead and guide project civil teams and ensure successful completion, snag closure, documentation and final handover.

Qualification & Experience

• B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Strong experience in 132kV–400kV transmission and substation civil projects.
• Experience in multi-site project management and HO-based project monitoring.
• Strong leadership, coordination, planning and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required by management.
