About the Role We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure database systems supporting mission-critical applications for government and defence clients. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise across multiple RDBMS platforms and the ability to support development teams with basic Java-level troubleshooting. Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server databases
• Monitor database performance, tune queries, and optimize indexes
• Manage backups, recovery, replication, and disaster recovery planning
• Implement and enforce database security, access controls, and audit compliance (relevant for government/defence data handling)
• Perform database migrations and version upgrades across platforms
• Write and optimize stored procedures, triggers, and functions
• Collaborate with development teams on schema design and query optimization
• Troubleshoot database connectivity issues with Java-based applications (JDBC, connection pooling)
• Maintain documentation for database architecture, SOPs, and change management Required Skills
• 5+ years of hands-on DBA experience across

PostgreSQL, Oracle, and MS SQL Server

• Strong knowledge of backup/recovery, replication, and performance tuning
• Experience with stored procedures, indexing strategies, and query optimization
• Basic working knowledge of

Java (JDBC, debugging DB connectivity issues)

• Familiarity with database security best practices and compliance requirements
• Good communication skills; ability to work with government/defence stakeholders Good to Have
• Experience working on secure government networks
• Exposure to Java-based application environments
• Prior experience in defence, PSU, or government IT projects
• Relevant certifications (OCP, PostgreSQL certification, MCSA/MCSE)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
