Day Care Assistant Teacher

WORKING HOURS: 10:00 AM TO 6:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the main teacher in managing daily day care activities and routines.
• Supervise children and ensure their safety and well-being at all times.
• Support children during playtime, storytelling, rhymes, art and craft, and other age-appropriate activities.
• Help children with feeding, handwashing, toileting, and other personal care needs, as appropriate to their age.
• Assist children during nap time and maintain a comfortable resting environment.
• Encourage positive behaviour, sharing, cooperation, and social interaction among children.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in classrooms, play areas, toys, and learning materials.
• Observe children's behaviour and development and report any concerns to the main teacher or coordinator.
• Communicate politely with parents and share relevant information as directed by the main teacher.
• Follow school policies, child protection guidelines, and health and safety procedures.
• Assist in preparing teaching aids, activity materials, and classroom resources.
• Report accidents, injuries, or emergencies according to school procedures.

Educational Qualifications

• Minimum PUC / 12th standard; graduation is an advantage.
• ECCE, NTT, Montessori, or a relevant childcare qualification is preferred.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise children and manage daily routines.
• Basic understanding of child development and hygiene practices.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and support staff.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Prior experience in a preschool, nursery, daycare centre, or school is preferred.
• Experience caring for toddlers or preschool-aged children is an advantage.
• Should be comfortable assisting with feeding, nap time, and age-appropriate personal care.
• Must be attentive, reliable, and committed to children's safety and well-being.
