Responsibilities

Databricks Apps / Data Engineers

Key technical requirements:

• Strong hands-on experience with Databricks Apps, including building and implementing data-driven applications.
• Expertise in Databricks data engineering, data modeling, and data transformations.
• Experience working with Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, and Bronze/Silver/Gold (Medallion) architecture.
• Ability to work with data from multiple enterprise systems and develop end-to-end solutions.
• Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) for data ingestion and integration.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, and semantic models would be valuable.

2. Critical Business & Functional Skills

This is particularly important to the customer:

• Must be able to understand business requirements directly from stakeholders, without depending heavily on a separate Business Analyst.
• Capable of independently gathering requirements, understanding business processes, designing data models, and implementing solutions.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business needs into technical deliverables.
• Experience working with operational, supply chain, procurement, production, or industrial data would be highly relevant.
• Previous experience in mining, manufacturing, or other asset-intensive industries would be an advantage.

3. Customer's Current Technology Environment

• Databricks: Primary data storage, engineering, transformation, and modeling platform.
• Unity Catalog: Data organization and governance.
• Azure Data Factory: Data ingestion and integration.
• Power BI / Microsoft Fabric: Reporting, dashboards, and centralized semantic models.
• OneLake / Direct Lake / Shortcuts: Used to connect Databricks data to Fabric and optimize reporting performance.
• SAP and other operational systems: Business data sources.
