Required Technical Skills

1. Extensive Database CI/CD Experience

• Design, implement, and maintain Database CI/CD pipelines to automate database schema deployments across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Experience with database version control tools such as Flyway, Liquibase, Redgate SQL Change Automation, or similar solutions.
• Develop and manage automated deployment processes for database objects including tables, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and security configurations.
• Integrate database deployment processes with DevOps tools such as Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, or Bamboo.
• Implement rollback strategies, deployment validation, and database release governance.
• Collaborate with application development teams to align database changes with application release cycles.
• Experience in database change management, schema comparison, automated testing, and release automation.
• Strong understanding of Git-based source control practices, branching strategies, and code review processes.

2. PostgreSQL Experience

• Hands-on experience administering and supporting PostgreSQL databases in production environments.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL architecture, performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, partitioning, and vacuum management.
• Experience with PostgreSQL High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions, including replication, failover, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, and PL/pgSQL code.
• Experience monitoring PostgreSQL environments using tools such as pgAdmin, PgBouncer, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of PostgreSQL security, user management, role-based access control, and auditing.
• Experience troubleshooting database performance issues and implementing capacity planning recommendations.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL deployments in cloud platforms such as Azure Database for PostgreSQL, AWS RDS PostgreSQL, or Google Cloud SQL.

3. Optional: Database Containerization

• Experience deploying and managing database workloads using container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of containerized PostgreSQL deployments for development, testing, and CI/CD environments.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes concepts including StatefulSets, Persistent Volumes, Storage Classes, and Operators.
• Experience with PostgreSQL Operators such as CloudNativePG, CrunchyData, or Zalando PostgreSQL Operator is desirable.
• Understanding of container orchestration, scaling, backup, recovery, and monitoring for containerized databases.
• Experience integrating containerized database deployments into DevOps pipelines and Infrastructure as Code frameworks such as Terraform or Helm.
• Knowledge of security best practices for database containerization, including secrets management and persistent data protection.
