Database Engineer at A FinTech Company

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain PostgreSQL databases.
• Plan and execute database migrations with minimal downtime.
• Manage HA, replication, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Monitor and optimize database performance.
• Support Redis, ClickHouse, and other data stores.
• Automate database tasks using Bash/Python.
• Implement database security and access controls.
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams.

Preferred candidate profile

• Database administration experience.
• Expert knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication, and performance tuning.
• Experience with MySQL/MariaDB to PostgreSQL migrations.
• Strong knowledge of HA, PITR, backups, and disaster recovery.
• Experience with cloud and on-premise database deployments.
• Knowledge of Redis, ClickHouse, Ansible/Terraform is a plus.
• Strong Bash/Python scripting skills.
