Database Developer

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Developer to manage and optimize our database systems. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with MySQL, database performance tuning, and routine database administration tasks. You will work closely with the Development and DevOps teams to ensure database reliability, performance, and security.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain MySQL database systems to ensure performance, availability, and security.
• Design and maintain database schemas, tables, and relationships.
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and views.
• Perform routine database administration tasks such as backup, recovery, monitoring, and patching.
• Monitor database performance and proactively identify and resolve bottlenecks.
• Assist in query tuning, indexing, and performance optimization.
• Support database replication setups (Master-Slave, GTID) and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with the Development, QA, and DevOps teams for smooth database integration and deployments.
• Assist in data migration, data validation, and deployment activities.
• Maintain proper documentation of database structures and processes.

Education & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or MySQL Developer.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong knowledge of MySQL database administration and SQL querying.
• Basic understanding of database design, normalization, and data modeling.
• Hands-on experience with backup/recovery and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with MySQL replication and high availability concepts.
• Understanding of indexing strategies and query execution plans.
• Knowledge of MySQL storage engines such as InnoDB.
• Exposure to version control tools like Git/SVN is a plus.
• Basic knowledge of other databases such as PostgreSQL or MongoDB is an advantage.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
