About this role
We are looking for a highly experienced and strategic Database Architect (E4 band) to lead the design, implementation and optimization of scalable, secure and high-performance database solutions. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in modern database technologies, data modeling and cloud-native architectures, with a strong focus on reliability, performance and data governance.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement robust database architectures for large-scale, mission-critical applications.
Define data models, schemas, and storage strategies aligned with business and application needs.
Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, and product teams to ensure seamless data integration and performance.
Establish and enforce database standards, best practices and governance policies.
Lead database performance tuning, capacity planning and disaster recovery strategies.
Evaluate and integrate emerging database technologies and tools.
Required Skills & Experience:
Proven experience in designing and managing relational and NoSQL databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Cassandra).
Strong expertise in data modeling, normalization, and query optimization.
Hands-on experience with cloud-native database services (e.g., GCP Cloud SQL, BigQuery, AWS RDS, Azure SQL).
Familiarity with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud database strategies.
Experience with data replication, backup, and high-availability configurations.
Knowledge of data security, compliance, and privacy best practices.
Proficiency in scripting and automation for database operations (e.g., Python, Shell, Terraform).
