Data Scientist Organization Intelligence & Analytics
Mumbai, India / Remote | Full-Time
Role Overview
Own the statistical core and quantitative modeling engine behind EquiSight, our enterprise solution for job architecture and design, compensation studio and pay equity compliance. Work with our Technical Lead, Data Architect and HR Domain Advisors to build, test and maintain an analytical engine that converts client datasets into defensible organizational and compliance insights.
Responsibilities
- Implement statutory metrics including mean/median pay gaps, variable pay, quartile bands and gaps by category.
- Model adjusted like-for-like pay gaps with OLS log-linear regressions controlling for grade, job family, country and tenure.
- Apply robust standard errors (HC3/HC1), confidence intervals, significance tests and Gelbach decomposition to separate structural workforce drivers from unexplained residuals.
- Maintain automated reference-dataset validation suites across 30+ compliance figures to prevent drift between deployments.
- Develop regression-residual anomaly detection and remediation cost scenarios while preserving workforce regression dynamics.
Tools
Python 3.11+, pandas, numpy, statsmodels, scipy, pytest and PostgreSQL via Python/ORM.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s in Statistics, Econometrics, Quantitative Economics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science or a related field. 0–2 years’ experience; suitable for a statistics-first graduate or junior analyst.
Solid OLS regression, log transformations, dummy-variable encoding, hypothesis testing, p-values, confidence intervals and robust standard errors. Strong practical Python, data manipulation, clean code organization and numerical accuracy.
Preferred: exposure to compensation analytics, labor economics or workforce metrics.
