About this role
Job Description
- We are seeking an experienced Data Science and ML Engineer with 7 to 9 years of hands-on experience to join our growing analytics team in Pune, responsible for designing and deploying end-to-end machine learning solutions that drive business outcomes.
- The role requires deep expertise in Python for building scalable data pipelines, statistical models, and machine learning workflows, along with strong proficiency in SQL for complex data querying, transformation, and analysis across large datasets.
- Candidates must have practical experience working with AWS Lambda for serverless ML model deployment and event-driven data processing pipelines integrated with cloud-based infrastructure.
- Experience with Looker for building interactive business intelligence dashboards, LookML modeling, and translating machine learning insights into actionable visual reports for stakeholders is essential.
- Hands-on experience leveraging Claude or similar large language model APIs for building intelligent NLP-based applications, prompt engineering, and integrating generative AI capabilities into data products is highly preferred.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the full machine learning lifecycle including feature engineering, model training, hyperparameter tuning, validation, and production deployment with monitoring strategies.
- You will work closely with cross-functional teams including product, engineering, and business intelligence to define data requirements, model objectives, and success metrics for ML initiatives.
- This position offers the opportunity to shape the AI and data science strategy for our Pune operations while mentoring junior data scientists and contributing to internal best practices and documentation.

Job Roles and Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain production-grade machine learning models using Python and scikit-learn, XGBoost, or deep learning frameworks to solve classification, regression, forecasting, and NLP problems.
- Write optimized SQL queries and manage data extraction, transformation, and loading processes across relational and cloud data warehouses to support model training and business reporting needs.
- Deploy and manage serverless ML inference workflows using AWS Lambda, ensuring low-latency predictions and seamless integration with upstream data sources and downstream applications.
- Build and maintain Looker dashboards and LookML models to communicate machine learning model outputs, KPIs, and data science findings to non-technical business stakeholders.
- Integrate Claude and other LLM APIs to develop intelligent automation tools, summarization systems, and conversational AI features embedded within internal data products.
- Conduct exploratory data analysis, hypothesis testing, and A/B experiment design to validate model performance improvements and quantify the business impact of data science initiatives.
- Collaborate with data engineers and DevOps teams to establish MLOps pipelines including CI/CD for models, automated retraining schedules, model versioning, and drift detection monitoring.
- Mentor junior data scientists and ML engineers, conduct code reviews, and contribute to establishing team-wide coding standards, documentation practices, and reproducible research frameworks.
