Role Description As a Data Science Mentor at FACE Prep, you will guide learners through core data science concepts, tools, and industry practices in a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai. You will deliver classroom sessions, lead hands-on labs, and support project-based learning that covers topics such as statistics, machine learning, programming, and data visualization. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and updating learning materials, explaining complex concepts in an accessible manner, reviewing assignments, and providing constructive feedback. You will mentor students on interview preparation and career pathways, help them build strong portfolios, and track their learning progress. Collaboration with other mentors and curriculum teams to refine course content and incorporate industry trends will be a key part of the role.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in data science concepts including statistics, machine learning, data analysis, and data visualization.
• Proficiency in programming languages commonly used in data science, such as Python or R, and familiarity with relevant libraries and frameworks.
• Experience working with real-world datasets, data preprocessing, model building, evaluation, and deployment workflows.
• Ability to design and deliver clear, engaging explanations, with experience in teaching, mentoring, or technical training considered an advantage.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to support learners from diverse educational backgrounds.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with industry hiring practices, interview processes for data roles, and career guidance for entry-level professionals.
• Comfort working in an on-site, collaborative environment in Chennai and commitment to student success and continuous learning.
