Data Migration Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Data Migration Developer based in India.

This is a technical opportunity focused on supporting critical SAP environments and ensuring reliable day-to-day operations across production landscapes. The role centers on resolving high-priority P1/P2 incidents, maintaining system stability, and minimizing business disruption. You will work across SAP administration, monitoring, performance optimization, transport management, and incident resolution. The position requires close collaboration with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams, particularly during critical production events. You will also contribute to root cause analysis, preventive actions, system upgrades, patching, and continuous improvements to the SAP landscape. This is a strong fit for an experienced SAP professional who is comfortable working under pressure and managing issues within strict SLA and KPI requirements. The role is fully remote and follows a 3:30 AM–11:30 AM IST shift.

Accountabilities:: Manage P1 and P2 SAP BASIS production incidents, ensuring timely resolution in accordance with established SLA and KPI requirements.

Perform incident analysis, troubleshooting, impact assessments, and resolution of critical production issues.

Lead or actively participate in major incident resolution calls, coordinating with application, infrastructure, database, and business teams during outages or performance degradation.

Conduct root cause analysis for recurring or critical incidents and recommend preventive and corrective actions.

Provide clear and timely status updates to stakeholders throughout critical incidents and production events.

Administer SAP landscapes across development, quality assurance, and production environments.

Perform SAP system monitoring, health checks, instance start/stop activities, client administration, spool management, background job monitoring, and user administration support.

Support SAP kernel upgrades, profile parameter changes, system patching, upgrades, and related maintenance activities.

Manage transport requests and coordinate transport movements across SAP environments.

Monitor work processes, system logs, dumps, queues, background jobs, and overall system performance.

Troubleshoot system availability issues, performance bottlenecks, job failures, update terminations, short dumps, lock entries, and spool-related problems.

Coordinate with database and infrastructure teams to improve system performance, availability, and stability.

Support system refreshes and other SAP lifecycle activities as required.

Contribute to continuous improvement of production support processes, monitoring practices, and operational reliability.

Requirements:

6–8 years of hands-on experience in SAP BASIS administration and production support.

Proven experience managing P1/P2 incidents in SAP production environments and working against strict SLA and KPI targets.

Strong knowledge of SAP NetWeaver, SAP system administration, monitoring, and performance tuning.

Practical experience with transport management, background job monitoring, spool and printer administration, user administration, and client administration.

Strong understanding of work process analysis, short dumps, system logs, traces, queues, and other SAP troubleshooting mechanisms.

Experience with SAP kernel activities, patching, upgrades, and profile parameter management.

Demonstrated experience in incident management, troubleshooting, impact assessment, and root cause analysis.

Familiarity with ticketing and service management platforms such as ServiceNow, Jira, or Remedy.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, particularly during high-pressure production incidents.

Ability to prioritize critical issues, work independently, and coordinate effectively across multiple technical teams.

Preferred experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA environments.

Knowledge of database coordination involving HANA, Oracle, SQL Server, or DB2 is an advantage.

Exposure to SAP Solution Manager, ChaRM, and enterprise monitoring tools is desirable.

Experience with SAP system refreshes, upgrades, and patching activities is preferred.

Familiarity with SAP environments hosted on Azure, AWS, private cloud, or other cloud platforms is a plus.

Understanding of ITIL principles and structured IT service management processes is advantageous.
