Data Engineer

This role is suited for a Data Engineer / Senior Data Engineer with a strong background in Data Engineering, SQL, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), Middleware, and Enterprise Applications , particularly within Banking, Payments, and Financial Services environments. The individual will be responsible for designing and developing scalable data solutions, optimizing databases, managing enterprise application platforms, and ensuring high performance, availability, and reliability of business-critical systems. The role combines hands-on expertise in data engineering, database technologies, middleware platforms, messaging systems, and DevOps practices to drive technology modernization and operational excellence. The candidate will collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams to deliver data integration initiatives, enterprise application deployments, platform enhancements, automation, and strategic technology transformations. Experience with payment systems, SWIFT, ISO 20022, and enterprise integration platforms will be highly advantageous. Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving capabilities, stakeholder management, and a results-oriented mindset are essential for success in this role. Messaging Technologies IBM MQ / WebSphere MQ Message queue configuration and optimization Enterprise messaging architecture XML, JSON, and REST API integrations Transaction processing and payment messaging platforms

DevOps & Automation CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitHub, and GitLab Shell scripting and Python automation Release and deployment automation Monitoring and observability using Splunk, Dynatrace, or AppDynamics Process optimization and platform automation

Infrastructure & Platforms Linux/Unix environments Kubernetes/OpenShift Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Domain Expertise (Preferred) Banking and Payments systems SWIFT and ISO 20022 messaging Financial transaction processing Enterprise middleware and integration platforms

Ideal Experience: 5–7 years for Data Engineer roles and 8–10+ years for Senior/Lead Data Engineer roles, particularly for candidates with experience across Data Engineering, SQL Development, WebSphere Application Server (WAS), IBM MQ, DevOps, Middleware Technologies, and Payment Systems .
