Healthcare Data Engineer – Medicare / Medicaid Offshore | Must Work U.S. Hours We are looking for a Healthcare Data Engineer with experience supporting Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, and payer data environments. This role will support healthcare data workflows, SQL development, reporting, data validation, automation, and cloud-based data operations for U.S.-based teams. The ideal candidate should have strong SQL, Azure, data automation, and healthcare data experience, with the ability to work across claims, eligibility, enrollment, member, provider, encounter, and CMS-related datasets. Responsibilities Develop and support healthcare data pipelines, SQL queries, reports, and validation processes. Work with Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, claims, eligibility, enrollment, member, provider, and encounter data. Support data mapping, data migration, reconciliation, and production issue resolution. Build and maintain ETL/ELT workflows using SQL Server, Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Synapse, or similar platforms. Perform SQL-based analysis for reporting, data quality, auditing, and operational insights. Support CMS-related reporting, healthcare payer analytics, and regulatory data needs. Work with business analysts, QA teams, reporting teams, and U.S.-based stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve data issues. Maintain automation scripts and workflows using SQL, Python, PowerShell, Shell scripting, or related tools. Support Git-based code management, deployment processes, and data workflow documentation. Ensure secure handling of PHI, PII, and HIPAA-regulated healthcare data. Required Skills 5+ years of experience in data engineering, SQL development, ETL, data analysis, or healthcare data support. Strong SQL experience with data validation, reporting, stored procedures, views, performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Experience with Azure SQL, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, Synapse, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar data platforms. Healthcare payer experience with Medicare, Medicaid, Medicare Advantage, managed care, or health plan data. Experience working with claims, enrollment, eligibility, member, provider, encounter, authorization, or payment data. Strong understanding of data quality, reconciliation, production support, and root-cause analysis. Ability to work directly with U.S.-based teams during U.S. business hours. Preferred Skills Experience with CMS, MMR, MOR, PPR, RAF/HCC, encounter submissions, risk adjustment, or Stars/HEDIS data. Experience with EDI transactions such as 834, 837, 835, 270/271, 276/277, or 278. Experience with Power BI, Databricks, Python, PySpark, APIs, or cloud data lake environments. Prior experience supporting a Medicare Advantage health plan, TPA, payer, PBM, or healthcare analytics platform. Work Schedule Offshore role with required overlap during U.S. business hours. About the Role This is a hands-on role for a data professional who understands healthcare payer data and can support SQL development, data validation, reporting, automation, and production data operations in a fast-paced U.S. healthcare environment.
