Senior Data Engineer to build and optimize cloud-based data platforms that power healthcare payment systems, analytics products, and large-scale data transformation initiatives.

Role Overview As a Senior Data Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain modern data platforms supporting healthcare claims, reimbursement analytics, payment integrity, and enterprise reporting. You will work closely with product teams, data architects, business stakeholders, and engineering leaders to build reliable, scalable, and high-performance data solutions. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy solving complex data challenges, optimizing cloud-based architectures, and owning critical data infrastructure in a fast-paced product environment.

Key Responsibilities Data Engineering & Pipeline Development

• Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines that support healthcare analytics and payment-processing platforms.
• Develop robust ELT workflows and automated data-processing solutions using modern cloud technologies.
• Build and optimize data ingestion, transformation, validation, and delivery processes across large datasets.
• Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of production data systems.

Snowflake Data Platform Development

• Design and maintain Snowflake-based data architectures, schemas, and warehouse solutions.
• Develop complex SQL queries, stored procedures, dynamic SQL workflows, and performance optimization strategies.
• Create scalable data models using star, snowflake, and hybrid modeling approaches.
• Improve query performance, cost efficiency, and platform scalability.

Python Development & Automation

• Develop production-grade Python applications for data transformation, integration, and automation.
• Build API integrations and data-exchange workflows across internal and external systems.
• Create automated data-quality, monitoring, and reporting solutions.
• Support advanced data-collection and processing workflows where required.

Cloud & Workflow Orchestration

• Build and manage cloud-native data solutions using AWS services.
• Develop workflow orchestration frameworks using Apache Airflow and AWS MWAA.
• Utilize services such as S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, SNS, and IAM to create scalable data architectures.
• Implement monitoring, alerting, and operational best practices across data platforms.

Data Quality & Governance

• Establish data-quality controls, validation frameworks, and operational monitoring standards.
• Support governance initiatives related to lineage, security, compliance, and audit readiness.
• Ensure data accuracy and integrity across business-critical healthcare datasets.
• Drive best practices for documentation, testing, and maintainability.

Collaboration & Delivery

• Partner with product managers, architects, analysts, and business stakeholders across India and the US.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and technical planning discussions.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, release processes, and engineering best practices.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools responsibly while maintaining strong engineering standards.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data-platform development, or cloud data infrastructure roles.
• Strong expertise in Snowflake, SQL, Python, and modern ELT/ETL development practices.
• Deep understanding of data modeling, query optimization, stored procedures, dynamic SQL, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Airflow, AWS MWAA, and cloud-native data architectures.
• Experience working with AWS services including S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, SNS, and IAM.
• Strong understanding of Git, CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and software-development best practices.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with global stakeholders.
• Self-driven professional capable of operating independently in a high-ownership environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare, healthcare analytics, healthcare claims, reimbursement, payment integrity, or payer-domain environments.
• Exposure to large-scale enterprise data platforms and analytics products.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools and modern engineering workflows.
• Experience supporting regulated, compliance-sensitive, or data-intensive environments.
• Prior experience in product engineering, analytics platforms, or consulting-led technology organizations.
