About this role
- We are seeking an experienced Database Developer who is detail-oriented, analytical, and understands the importance of test data in assuring software quality. This role focuses on data profiling, ETL processes, data modelling, SQL development, Python-based data solutions, and test data creation & management, covering all business flows across the Trade Lifecycle.
- Responsibilities
Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the data flow across various upstream and downstream systems of the Trade Lifecycle.
Participate in data profiling from upstream and downstream systems as per program needs.
Develop and support ETL processes for data extraction, transformation, and loading across multiple systems.
Design and maintain logical and physical data models to support test data management requirements.
Build test data with all data quality considerations such as data lineage, referential integrity, and zero duplications based on profiling results.
Write, optimize, and maintain complex SQL queries, procedures, and scripts for data validation and reconciliation.
Develop Python-based utilities and automation scripts for data analysis, test data generation, and quality checks.
Design and implement reusable data management assets for easy usage and maintenance.
Participate in environment planning and design discussions.
Troubleshoot environment, database, ETL, and test data issues as required.
Identify areas for optimization and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, data mappings, and reports.
Requirements
Bachelor?s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Exposure to Trade and Settlement Lifecycle.
10+ years of experience in database development, test environment management, and test data management.
Expert-level proficiency in SQL, including writing and optimizing complex queries, stored procedures, and performance tuning.
Strong experience in ETL development and data integration processes using industry-standard ETL tools/frameworks.
Hands-on experience in Data Modelling (Conceptual, Logical, and Physical Data Models).
Strong programming experience in Python for data processing, automation, and validation.
Deep experience in test environment and test data management across Relational and NoSQL databases.
Experience with data profiling, data lineage, data quality, and data governance principles.
Familiarity with version control and collaboration tools such as Git, Jira, and Azure Boards.
Experience with CI/CD integration and DevOps practices.
Exposure to GitHub Copilot/Microsoft Copilot.
Exposure to Agile methodologies.
Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
