About The Role

GyanSys is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Data Engineer / Consultant to join its expanding Data & Analytics practice. This role is pivotal in designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-scale data engineering solutions that leverage modern cloud platforms and data architectures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background with hands-on experience in building scalable data pipelines and analytics solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including architects, data scientists, business stakeholders, and BI professionals, to deliver high-quality data solutions that drive strategic decision-making.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies such as Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Engineering, Databricks, PySpark, and Apache Spark. Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 4+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles is required. Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Fabric Data Engineer Associate, Azure Data Engineer Associate, or Databricks Certified Data Engineer are highly preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in cloud data platforms, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipeline development, with a strong understanding of relational databases and data architecture best practices.

Experience working with enterprise systems such as SAP, ERP platforms, and SaaS applications is advantageous. Familiarity with data governance, security, and compliance frameworks, along with proficiency in scripting languages like Python and SQL, is essential. The ability to work effectively in a global, distributed team environment and possess excellent communication skills will set candidates apart.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines for enterprise data platforms, ensuring robustness and efficiency.
• Create data engineering solutions utilizing Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Factory, Databricks, PySpark, Spark SQL, and Python to process structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Build and optimize data pipelines, notebooks, Spark jobs, Delta Lake pipelines, and Databricks Workflows to support analytics and reporting needs.
• Implement Medallion Architecture and modern Lakehouse/Data Platform architectures to facilitate flexible and high-performance data storage solutions.
• Integrate data from diverse sources such as SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, APIs, cloud storage, ERP systems, and SaaS applications, ensuring data consistency and quality.
• Design and implement efficient data models, data warehouses, data lakes, and Lakehouse solutions aligned with business requirements.
• Optimize data pipelines, SQL queries, Spark clusters, and storage solutions for performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
• Develop and enforce data quality, validation, monitoring, governance, security, and compliance practices across all data solutions.
• Develop CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub, and related tools to automate deployment, testing, and integration processes.
• Troubleshoot production issues, analyze root causes, and implement performance improvements to ensure system stability.
• Collaborate with solution architects, business analysts, data scientists, and BI teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Participate in technical design reviews, code reviews, documentation, and knowledge-sharing initiatives to uphold best practices.
• Mentor junior engineers, fostering a culture of learning and continuous improvement within the team.
