Data Engineer (ETL)

Project Description:

Our client, a leading manufacturer of high-end household appliances, is expanding into new smart product lines. As part of this strategic initiative, a large-scale global program is being implemented across the company's IP portfolio. This includes the development of new embedded software, enhancements to cloud infrastructure, and the creation of innovative interfaces within the mobile application. As a data engineer you will be responsible for data analytics part for product insights including user data, telemetry. feedback and other sources.

Responsibilities:

1. Query and transform large-scale datasets directly in the AWS ecosystem using Athena, Redshift, S3 (Parquet/ORC), and Glue Data Catalog
2. Design and maintain robust, scalable data models that let analytics capabilities grow efficiently under increasing operational demand
3. Author complex SQL queries, views, and CTEs optimized for analytical workloads
4. Set up semantic layers, metric definitions, and metadata mapping
5. Design data stories, executive summaries, and drill-through diagnostic paths for operational and engagement metrics

Mandatory Skills Description:

- Tableau (BI Dashboards): Developing enterprise BI dashboards with Tableau
- Python for ETL: 2+ years hands-on experience with Python (pandas, boto3) for ETL pipelines
- Data Modeling: Understanding of columnar file formats, star schema design, SCD (Slowly Changing Dimension) tables, and incremental data models
- SQL Mastery: Advanced SQL including window functions, query performance tuning, partition pruning, and schema optimization
- AWS Data Stack: Deep hands-on experience querying AWS data sources Redshift, S3, Glue — plus IAM security controls

Nice-to-Have Skills Description:

- AWS Step Functions: Experience using Step Functions for ETL orchestration
- AWS Cost/Telemetry Data: Experience with AWS Data Exports, cost & usage monitoring, or IoT machine diagnostic telemetry analytics
- Certifications: Tableau Desktop Certified Professional, or AWS Certified Data Analytics / AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner
