Data Catalog Administrator Position

Description We are looking for a Mid-Level Data Catalog Administrator with around 5 years of experience to manage and optimize our Atlan or Collibra environments. You will be responsible for platform configuration, user access management, and the operational health of our enterprise metadata landscape.

Responsibilities

• Administer the Atlan / Collibra platform, encompassing instance configuration, environment management, and system upgrades.
• Manage Atlan tenant configurations, workspace settings, and system updates.
• Oversee and configure automated metadata harvesting, lineage capture, and data profiling jobs.
• Manage user provisioning, role-based access control (RBAC), and Single Sign-On (SSO)/LDAP integrations to ensure secure access.
• Facilitate governance workflows such as asset certification, glossary updates, and issue management.
• Partner with data stewards to enforce data quality rules and monitor data health.
• Monitor and troubleshoot automated metadata synchronization jobs, API integrations, and connectivity between the catalog and data sources.
• Execute environment refreshes, capacity planning, and periodic health checks, ensuring platform performance meets enterprise SLAs.
• Support ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, and Change Management) via ServiceNow, managing platform-related tickets and maintaining Knowledge Base Articles.
• Assist in periodic GxP reviews, user access audits, and Disaster Recovery simulations for the data catalog platform.

Core Technical Skills

• 5+ years of platform administration experience, with extensive hands-on expertise managing Atlan / Collibra instances.
• Strong understanding of user access models, SSO/SAML integrations, and API-based platform connectivity.
• Familiarity with querying and connecting to modern cloud data platforms (specifically Snowflake) for troubleshooting sync issues.

Methodology & Best Practices

• Deep understanding of ITIL frameworks and standard operating procedures for enterprise software administration.
• Proven experience operating in highly regulated environments requiring meticulous change control documentation.
• Experience with Python or shell scripting for administrative task automation.

Soft Skills

• Communication skills, capable of coordinating patching and upgrades with minimal business disruption.
• Proactive in identifying platform bottlenecks and recommending optimization strategies.
