Role Overview: We are seeking a Data Architect who will lead the design and implementation of data architectures that support our data-driven initiatives. This role is perfect for someone who is a team player, keen to learn new skills, and has a meticulous eye for data. You will work with a team of experienced actuarial analysts, architects, developers, and business resources to build databases, warehouses, and ETL/ELT pipelines to fuel modern web applications and visualizations.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with teams of experienced actuaries, data analysts, architects, data engineers and business experts to deliver projects.
• Design and implement scalable data architectures that align with business objectives, including data models, meta data management, and database schemas.
• Lead the selection of suitable technologies for data storage, integration, and analytics.
• Establish data governance policies to ensure data quality, security and compliance.
• Perform data analysis required to troubleshoot data related issues and assist in the resolution of data issues.
• Implementation of data warehouse and lake house solutions to support data & analytics initiatives.
• Assist in support and enhancements of existing data pipelines and databases and troubleshoot the performance issues.
• Participate in database design and modelling.
• Architect and Develop: Conceptualize, design, implement, and develop a comprehensive warehouse architecture.
• Roadmap Creation: Create a roadmap aligned with business and tech strategy to ensure coherent progress and integration.
• Governance: Implement data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
• Leadership: Provide technical leadership and guidance to the data engineering team in implementing architectural designs.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. Work closely with stakeholders to identify opportunities for data integration, migration, and optimization.
• Innovation: Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement in data architecture strategies and best practices.

Requirements:

• Over all 10+ Years of Total Experience working with Data integration teams.
• 5+ years of experience in data architecture, database design, and data management.
• 2+ years of experience working with Kubernetes.
• At least 3-4 years of working experience in Databricks.
• 4+ years of in-depth experience developing data pipelines within a Hadoop-based or Apache Spark environment (solution stack is preferably Databricks but similar stacks considered).
• Strong knowledge on data modelling, database technologies, data warehousing.
• Strong knowledge in ETL/ELT processes, and implementation via SSIS or some other ELT/ETL tool.
• Strong experience integrating with AI/LLM platforms and frameworks (e.g., Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, Hugging Face, vector databases).
• Strong Knowledge in Cloud Platforms (Aws or Azure) and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and privacy frameworks.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to haves:

• Experience with machine learning and AI-driven data architectures.
• Certifications in Databricks, cloud computing or database management is a plus.
• Some experience developing data solutions using native IaaS and PaaS solutions on AWS (Redshift, RDS, S3) will be an advantage.
• Experience in any object oriented or functional programming language is a plus.
