The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect with strong expertise in data modelling and enterprise data architecture to design scalable, secure, and high-performing data solutions. The role will work closely with business, technology, data engineering, and governance teams to define data architecture and deliver strategic data initiatives.

Principal Responsibilities

• Define and implement enterprise and solution-level data architecture aligned with business and technology strategy.
• Develop and review conceptual, logical, and physical data models across complex business domains.
• Establish data modelling standards, principles, naming conventions, and reusable patterns.
• Design architectures for data warehouses, data lakes, lakehouses, and analytical platforms.
• Define data integration patterns across ETL/ELT, APIs, batch, and real-time data pipelines.
• Assess and recommend appropriate databases, cloud platforms, and data technologies.
• Ensure solutions address data quality, governance, security, scalability, and performance.
• Partner with data engineers, developers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure effective implementation.
• Review existing data landscapes and define target-state architecture and modernisation roadmaps.
• Produce architecture documentation, data models, design standards, and technical recommendations.

Requirements

• 13+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Database Architecture, or related roles.
• Strong hands-on experience in conceptual, logical, and physical data modelling.
• Excellent understanding of relational, dimensional, OLTP, and OLAP data models.
• Experience with data warehousing, data lakes/lakehouses, and cloud data platforms.
• Strong SQL and database knowledge.
• Experience with ETL/ELT, data integration, data governance, metadata, and data lineage.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP data services is desirable.
• Experience with modelling tools such as Erwin, ER/Studio, Sparx EA, or equivalent is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
• Experience in large and complex enterprise environments preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications such as DAMA, TOGAF, AWS/Azure/GCP, or equivalent are advantageous.
