About this role
Job Title Data Architect (AWS)
Experience 15+ years (8+ years in Architect / Senior Architect roles)
Location Bengaluru / Hybrid (as applicable)
Role Summary
We are hiring a Data Architect to own end-to-end architecture across AWS cloud, enterprise platforms, data ecosystems, and integrations. This is a hands-on leadership role where the architect serves as the single architectural authority, driving scalable, secure, and future-ready solutions.
The ideal candidate must have proven experience implementing Data Lakes, with at least 3 successful Data Lake implementations delivered in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Own enterprise-wide architecture across applications, data, integration, and infrastructure layers.
- Design, build, and govern AWS-based Data Lake architectures (minimum 3 end-to-end implementations)
- Lead architecture for cloud-native and data-intensive platforms on AWS
- Define and execute data ingestion, transformation, storage, and analytics strategies.
- Ensure strong data governance, security, quality, and compliance across Data Lake implementations.
- Drive solution architecture for complex, cross-team initiatives.
- Remain hands-on: review designs, troubleshoot complex issues, and guide engineering teams.
- Define architectural standards, patterns, and best practices.
- Partner with senior stakeholders to align architecture with business objectives.
- Mentor and guide senior engineers and architects.
Required Skills
- 15+ years of experience in software engineering and architecture.
- 8+ years in senior/principal architect roles.
- At least 3 successfully implemented Data Lake projects in production environments.
- Deep expertise in AWS cloud architecture, including data services.
- Strong experience with Data Lake technologies (S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena, Redshift, EMR, Databricks, or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT, data modeling, and analytics platforms.
- Distributed systems, microservices, APIs, and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience with Python / SQL / PySpark.
- CI/CD, DevOps, Infrastructure as Code.
- Strong system design, scalability, performance, and reliability expertise.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have
- Multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud experience (Azure / GCP in addition to AWS).
- Experience with real-time and streaming data architectures.
- Exposure to ML/AI workloads on Data Lakes.
- AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Professional preferred).
- Experience mentoring senior engineering talent.
