Data Architect (Mexico - Remote)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to lead the design and evolution of our enterprise data platform. This is a fully remote opportunity for professionals based in Mexico who are passionate about building scalable, secure, and modern cloud-based data ecosystems. As a Data Architect, you will own the overall data architecture strategy, including data warehouse design, integration patterns, governance frameworks, and long-term scalability planning. You will work closely with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Product, and Business stakeholders to ensure the platform supports both current business needs and future growth. You will provide technical leadership across multiple teams, define enterprise architecture standards, and drive the adoption of modern cloud data technologies such as Snowflake and other Massively Parallel Processing (MPP) data warehouse platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and own the enterprise data architecture strategy.
• Design scalable cloud-native data platforms and modern data warehouse architectures.
• Architect robust ETL/ELT frameworks and enterprise data integration solutions.
• Design scalable multi-source data ingestion and integration patterns.
• Establish enterprise data governance, security, quality, and compliance standards.
• Define data modeling standards supporting analytics, reporting, AI, and operational workloads.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, BI, Analytics, Product, and Application teams to deliver enterprise data solutions.
• Ensure the data platform supports high availability, scalability, reliability, and performance.
• Evaluate and recommend modern data technologies and architectural best practices.
• Lead architecture reviews and provide technical oversight across multiple projects.
• Drive modernization initiatives including cloud migration and platform optimization.
• Document enterprise architecture, standards, and governance policies.
• Participate in technical planning, roadmap development, and strategic decision-making.

Data Architect Responsibilities

• Own the overall enterprise data architecture strategy.
• Design enterprise data warehouse solutions and integration frameworks.
• Define scalable architecture for structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data.
• Establish data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security standards.
• Guide Data Engineering and BI teams on architecture, modeling, and implementation best practices.
• Design scalable Snowflake-based or equivalent cloud data warehouse architectures.
• Define enterprise-wide ETL/ELT design patterns and integration standards.
• Ensure architecture supports current and future client requirements.
• Lead cross-functional architecture discussions and technical decision-making.
• Mentor senior engineers, architects, and technical leads.
• Partner with client stakeholders to define long-term data strategies and technology roadmaps.

Required Skills Qualifications

• 12+ years of experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering, or Enterprise Data Platforms.
• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale cloud data architectures.
• Expertise with Snowflake or equivalent MPP (Massively Parallel Processing) Data Warehouse platforms such as Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics, or Teradata.
• Deep understanding of enterprise ETL/ELT architecture and modern data integration patterns.
• Strong expertise in Data Governance, Data Quality, Metadata Management, and Data Lineage.
• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures using AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong understanding of dimensional data modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema), Data Vault, and normalized models.
• Experience designing enterprise data lakes and lakehouse architectures.
• Strong SQL skills and familiarity with Python or Spark for data engineering workloads.
• Experience with orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, Azure Data Factory, or similar platforms.
• Strong knowledge of version control using Git.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Databricks, Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Iceberg, or Apache Hudi.
• Experience with streaming platforms such as Kafka or Kinesis.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Experience implementing DataOps, CI/CD, and automated deployment pipelines.
• Knowledge of enterprise security, compliance, and privacy frameworks.
• Experience supporting AI/ML data platforms.
• Professional certifications in AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake, or TOGAF.
