About The Role The R75905 Global Commercial Data Analyst position is a vital role within the Commercial Enablement team at Lonza Bioscience, based in Hyderabad, India. This role primarily involves managing and maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and consistency of commercial data across various platforms. The analyst will serve as a key point of contact for sales data stewardship, ensuring data governance standards are upheld and that data-driven decisions are based on reliable information. Working in an office-first environment with the flexibility to work remotely 20% of the time, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales, Marketing, IT, and Master Data Management, to optimize data processes and support commercial operations. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives, improve data quality, and enable effective sales and marketing strategies through robust data management practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in data management, preferably within a life sciences or pharmaceutical environment.
- Intermediate proficiency in Salesforce (SFDC) CRM, with hands-on experience in managing commercial data workflows.
- Practical knowledge of SAP ERP systems, supporting seamless integration with Salesforce and other tools.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex datasets, identify trends, and troubleshoot issues.
- Experience in implementing and enforcing data governance policies and standards.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical data insights into actionable recommendations.
- Proficiency in data visualization and reporting tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and operate independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Own and maintain the data that defines sales team responsibilities across customers, products, and regions, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate annual updates to reflect territory realignments, new roles, or shifts in customer coverage models, assessing their impact on historical performance and future reporting.
- Respond to and resolve issues related to incorrect customer or sales assignments that may impact orders, reporting, or compensation processes.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot data discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage the setup of the annual Sales Matrix in SAP, including reviewing changes with sales leadership and validating updates across systems to ensure alignment.
- Execute ongoing maintenance of the Sales Matrix, handling updates for new hires, territory changes, and resolving support requests efficiently.
- Oversee the creation and validation of new customer account records, conducting regular data audits to maintain high data quality standards.
- Generate weekly reports on newly created accounts, sharing updates with relevant stakeholders and coordinating with departments for necessary actions.
- Perform daily data cleansing activities, ensuring the accuracy and consistency of data across Salesforce, SAP, and other platforms.
- Design, maintain, and improve lead assignment rules to ensure leads are routed efficiently and accurately to the appropriate sales representatives.
- Collaborate with IT and Master Data teams to troubleshoot systemic data issues and implement process improvements for better data governance.
- Develop and document standardized procedures for data management, reporting, and process improvements to ensure consistency and compliance.
