About The Role

We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern to join our Product & Technology team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on building and maintaining robust data pipelines, developing internal dashboards, and supporting data-driven workflows that directly impact our operations and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in data management, programming, and analytics, and will be eager to learn and contribute to a fast-paced, innovative environment. This internship provides hands-on experience with production data pipelines, cloud databases, internal applications, and automation tools, making it a valuable stepping stone for those aspiring to build a career in data engineering and analysis.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, with proficiency in SQL and Python. Prior experience working with relational databases, data modeling, and ETL/ELT pipelines is highly desirable. Candidates should have excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively across teams are essential. A background in working with APIs, JSON, and data visualization tools will be advantageous. Candidates currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

As a Data Analyst / Data Engineer Intern at DeHaat, your responsibilities will encompass a broad range of data management and development tasks:

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot data pipelines across multiple sources including AWS RDS, Amazon Redshift, application databases, APIs, and internal systems such as Google Sheets.
• Write optimized SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, reconciliation, and reporting to support various business functions.
• Create and automate ETL/ELT workflows using Python scripts, ensuring data quality and consistency across systems.
• Manage scheduled data workflows and monitor their performance, troubleshooting failures and inconsistencies as they arise.
• Implement data validation and reconciliation checks to ensure accuracy and completeness of data flowing through pipelines.
• Work with APIs and JSON integrations to facilitate seamless data transfer between different applications and platforms.
• Document data sources, schemas, transformation processes, and dependencies for internal reference and compliance.
• Develop and maintain operational dashboards, reports, and internal tools using Frappe Framework / ERPNext.
• Connect internal applications with databases and APIs, translating business needs into structured datasets and KPIs.
• Debug data discrepancies, optimize dashboard performance, and enhance usability for various teams.
• Support frontend customization and scripting using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS where necessary.
• Utilize tools like Postman for API testing, perform QA on product releases, and support workflow automation efforts.
• Leverage AI tools such as ChatGPT or similar platforms for coding support, data analysis, and documentation tasks.
• Prepare technical documentation, SOPs, data dictionaries, and implementation notes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding.
• Quickly adapt to new systems and collaborate across engineering, product, and business teams to deliver impactful solutions.
