Data Analyst/Business Analyst _Group Insurance

We are seeking an experienced

Data Analyst / Business Analyst with strong expertise in the

Group Insurance domain to analyze business requirements, design data solutions, and support enterprise data initiatives. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with SQL, big data technologies, cloud data platforms, and data governance tools while working closely with business stakeholders, data engineering teams, and product owners. Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.
• Work extensively on Group Insurance processes, including Eligibility, Enrollment, Claims, Billing, Policy Administration, and Member Management.
• Analyze large datasets using SQL Server, DB2, Hive, and Databricks SQL to generate business insights and support decision-making.
• Develop and validate data mappings, business rules, and functional specifications.
• Work with Informatica and Cloudera for data integration, transformation, and migration activities.
• Support enterprise data initiatives using the Azure Data Platform.
• Ensure high data quality through profiling, validation, reconciliation, and governance processes.
• Maintain data lineage, metadata, and governance documentation using Collibra and Ataccama.
• Work with Kafka-based batch and real-time data pipelines to support enterprise data processing.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to optimize ETL/ELT processes and improve data quality.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, backlog grooming, and user story refinement.
• Create dashboards, reports, and analytical insights to support business operations.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of business solutions. Mandatory Skills
• 7–12+ years of experience as a Data Analyst or Business Analyst.
• Strong experience in the Group Insurance domain (Eligibility, Claims, Billing, Enrollment, Policy Administration).
• Expertise in: + SQL Server + DB2 + Hive + Databricks SQL
• Hands-on experience with: + Informatica + Cloudera + Azure Data Platform
• Strong understanding of: + Data Governance + Data Lineage + Metadata Management + Data Quality Frameworks
• Experience with Collibra and/or Ataccama.
• Experience building or supporting Kafka-based batch and real-time data pipelines.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile environments using Azure DevOps.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Master Data Management (MDM).
• Knowledge of Data Governance frameworks.
• Exposure to Insurance Analytics and Customer 360 initiatives.
• Understanding of AI/ML and Generative AI use cases in analytics.
• Familiarity with cloud-native data architecture and modern data platforms. Nice to Have
• Experience with reporting and visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• Knowledge of Python or Spark for data analysis.
• Experience working with enterprise-scale data lakes and data warehouses.
• Relevant certifications in Azure, Data Analytics, or Data Governance.

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field. Key Competencies
