Project Overview: *

The project focuses on developing and maintaining a robust, scalable, and reliable test automation framework using Cypress with TypeScript. The primary objective is to improve software quality, accelerate release cycles, and minimize production defects through effective manual and automated testing.

The project involves designing test strategies, developing reusable automation scripts, implementing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD), and integrating automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps and tools such as GitHub Actions or Jenkins. It also emphasizes code reviews, defect management through Jira, test documentation in Confluence, repository maintenance, and collaboration with development, DevOps, and QA teams to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Quality Assurance

• Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers, fostering a collaborative and continuous learning environment.
• Conduct regular, thorough code reviews of automation scripts created by the team to ensure high quality, optimization, and adherence to clean coding standards.
• Oversee the strategy, planning, design, and execution of both manual and automated test suites.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the overall software delivery and QA process.

Automation Testing (Cypress & TypeScript Focus)

• Develop, scale, and maintain robust automated test scripts using Cypress with TypeScript as our primary stack.
• Provide support, guidance, and troubleshooting for other automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Cypress) as required by project needs.
• Identify, document, and track defects efficiently using Jira, and document testing frameworks and strategies in Confluence.
• Strong hands-on experience in Behavior Driven Development (BDD) frameworks (Cucumber, Cypress BDD, etc.).
• Working knowledge of Azure DevOps including Pipelines, Repos, Test Plans, Boards, and CI/CD integration.
• Experience integrating automated test suites within Azure Cloud-based DevOps environments.

Repository Maintenance & CI/CD Integration

• Take ownership of test repository maintenance, including version control, branching strategies, and merge/pull request workflows.
• Collaborate with development and DevOps teams to integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
• Ensure automated test runs are stable, reliable, and integrated as a mandatory quality gate in the release process.

Good to have

• Knowledge and practical usage of Generative AI (GenAI) tools for software development, test case generation, test automation, defect analysis, productivity improvement, and quality engineering.
• Experience in Performance Testing using tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or equivalent.
• Exposure to Security Testing / Penetration Testing (Pen Test) concepts, vulnerability assessment, and secure application testing practices.
• Basic understanding of cloud platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure, including cloud-native application testing.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: Proven track record as a Test Lead or Senior QA Automation Engineer with experience coordinating teams and managing deliverables.
• Automation Expertise: Deep, hands-on experience writing and debugging automation frameworks in Cypress using TypeScript (knowledge of JavaScript, Python, or Java is a plus).
• DevOps & Git Literacy: Strong experience with Git workflows (repository maintenance) and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Review Capabilities: Exceptional eye for detail with a proven ability to perform code reviews and guide team members on improving script efficiency.
