Cybersecurity Penetration Testing Internship

Company Description CyberVelX is an offensive security consultancy based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, specializing in penetration testing. Founded by a security researcher with Hall of Fame recognition from Google, Meta, Zoho, and the U.S. Department of Defense, and a published CVE, CyberVelX works on real-world vulnerability assessments across web applications, APIs, and cloud infrastructure. We're building a hands-on training ground for freshers who want to start a career in cybersecurity.

Role Description As a Cybersecurity Penetration Testing Intern, you'll be trained from the ground up alongside our lead researcher on live security assessments. No prior cybersecurity experience needed — we'll teach you the field. You'll get exposure to:

• Fundamentals of web application and network penetration testing (OWASP Top 10, common vulnerability classes)
• Reconnaissance techniques for attack surface mapping
• Writing professional vulnerability reports (Summary, Steps to Reproduce, Impact, Root Cause, Fix)
• Hands-on use of industry-standard tools like Burp Suite and Nuclei
• Working under guided supervision in real client environments as you build confidence This is a 6-month internship with a monthly stipend, based out of our TIDEL Park, Pattabiram location.

Qualifications

• Recent graduates (any degree background) — freshers only, no prior industry experience required
• Basic programming/scripting knowledge (any language — Python, Java, C, etc. is fine)
• Genuine passion and curiosity for cybersecurity — this matters more than existing skills
• No prior cybersecurity or pentesting experience necessary — we'll train you
• Willing to learn intensively and put in the effort during training
