Credit Research - Banking Analyst

Job Summary

We are seeking intelligent, independent, and self-motivated individuals to be part of our Fundamental Credit Research team - one of the fastest growing verticals of the company. The candidate should have subject matter expertise in covering the Banking and Insurance sector; an experience in covering sovereign and supranational issuers would be an added advantage. The analyst would be responsible for providing issuer rating/recommendation on the issuers under her/his portfolio. This would be achieved through detailed fundamental review, by initiating and maintaining coverage on issuers through detailed models and preparing the investment summary report. The candidate should demonstrate ability to think on feet, adapt to situation and provide actionable investment commentary and opinion on the issuers.

The candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skill as there will be a daily interaction with the on-shore investment managers.

The individual will be part of the Fixed Income team based out of Bangalore. The team covers a wide variety of fixed income instrument issuers spanning across global, sectors and asses classes.

Responsibilities

• Initiating coverage on issuers by building detailed credit specific models and initiation reports
• Preparing opinionated research piece on key events, tracking quarterly earnings on companies under coverage
• Liaise with investor relations to seek responses and understand key issues
• Responsible for client interaction and managing client expectations
• Timely updation of sector dashboards

Core Skills Required

• Subject matter expertise in Banking and Insurance
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to provide actionable commentary and opinion on key events, issuers, rating recommendations
• Understanding of the capital structure of bank and instrument tiering
• Education: MBA (Finance), CFA and FRM is an added advantage
• Job requires extremely high level of attention to detail, meticulousness and accountability
• Abide by TAT and improve customer satisfaction over the period
• Liaise with investor relations
