Couchbase Database Administrator

Qualifications
Basic
• Bachelors degree or foreign equivalent from an accredited institution
• 8–12 years of database administration experience, including substantial hands-on experience supporting Couchbase Server in enterprise production environments
• Strong understanding of NoSQL databases, distributed systems, JSON document models, Linux administration, and high-availability architecture

Couchbase Administration Skills
• Install, configure, administer, patch, upgrade, and maintain multi-node Couchbase clusters across development, test, staging, and production environments
• Manage Couchbase Data, Query, Index, Search, Analytics, and Eventing services based on workload requirements
• Administer buckets, scopes, collections, nodes, service quotas, replicas, compaction settings, and cluster rebalance activities
• Plan and execute node addition, removal, failover, recovery, cluster expansion, and capacity changes with minimal service disruption
• Support Couchbase Server on Linux and, where applicable, Couchbase Capella or Couchbase deployments on cloud and Kubernetes platforms

Performance, Query, and Indexing
• Monitor cluster health, node utilization, disk and memory consumption, latency, throughput, rebalance status, replication queues, and service-specific metrics
• Tune memory quotas, vBuckets, indexes, compaction, query services, and workload placement for performance and stability
• Create, review, and optimize SQL++ queries, execution plans, Global Secondary Indexes, and index partitioning strategies
• Troubleshoot slow queries, indexing failures, hot nodes, skew, timeouts, out-of-memory conditions, and application connectivity issues
• Perform capacity planning, growth forecasting, workload analysis, and performance benchmarking for high-volume environments
