Cost Specialist/ Senior Cost Specialist

Job Summary:

• In this role, you will be responsible for supporting implementation of project specific cost control and reporting procedures, estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements. You will prepare cost studies, cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.

Major Responsibilities:

• Performs routine cost estimating, analysis, and control activities as directed.
• Supports the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems, and reports.
• Assists with budget allocation, reporting, and cost control for specific construction disciplines or groups of disciplines.
• Prepares cost data for proposals and contracts.
• Coordinates the development and accuracy of cost reports.
• Verifies consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and accuracy.
• Prepares specific budgets in accordance with prescribed standards and procedures.
• Investigates requirements for estimating and cost control data.
• Collects and classifies cost data.
• Performs budget allocation, reporting, and cost control for designated construction disciplines.
• Prepares cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
• Home office experience of minimum 3-5 years is must as a Cost specialist.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

• Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires a review of a variety of factors
• Demonstrates judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
• Networks and connects with internal and external personnel in own area of expertise
• Minimal supervision with some latitude for judgment
• Possesses problem-solving responsibility while working under defined guidelines
• May assist less-experienced team members
• Skilled in oral and written communication
• Proficiency in domain specific software applications - Microsoft Office Applications, Ecosys, Power BI for example.
